Samsung U600

The Samsung U600 is a slim & stylish slider opening mobile phone which is a member of the Samsung Ultra Edition II range. The handset is known as the Samsung U600 Ultra Edition 10.9 which is due to its casing being only 10.9mm in thickness. The Ultra Edition II range includes other slim & desirable mobile handsets which include the Samsung U100 Ultra Edition 5.9, Samsung U300 Ultra Edition 9.6 & Samsung U700 Ultra Edition 12.1. The handset comes in a modern designed casing which has a smooth slide opening mechanism which reveals the metal etched keypad. The handset comes with a large 2.2 Inch colour screen which can be viewed in the phones open or closed position. The phone looks incredibly stylish in either its open or closed position & the user can use the navigation tool & selection keys when the handsets is closed. The Samsung U600 Ultra Edition 10.9 comes in a shiny casing which is available in either a sapphire blue, garnet red, platinum metal & in a copper gold colour. The handset feels good in the users hand as it is a lightweight handset which is easy to use with a single hand. The phone is elegant & slim will get much attention for its looks alone. The U700 Ultra Edition 12.1 has been designed by Samsung to provide the user with an attractive slider phone complete with 3G capabilities. Samsung M110

The Samsung M110 Solid is also known as the Samsung M110 & as the Samsung Solid for short. It is a highly robust handset which will withhold the elements of dust & water as well as being dropped onto a hard surface from up to one metre. The casing is a rubber material & the handset is fully sealed to protect it from water splashes & dust damage. Its built in features are not particularly highly specified but this handset is built to withhold the elements not to perform amaze its user with technologies. It comes with a CSTN type screen which is 1.5 Inches in size & displays up to 65k colour with a screen resolution of 128 pixels by 128 pixels. This versatile & hard wearing handset weighs 95 grams & its dominions make it easy for the user to carry with them at all times as its height is 109mm, width is 48mm & it is 17.9mm in thickness.

The user can keep in contact with others by using the built in messaging services which include text messaging, multimedia messaging & enhanced messaging. The multimedia messaging service on the Samsung M110 Solid allows the user to share their pictures with other compatible messaging contacts. A multimedia message can contain a picture with text which is a fun & easy way to share experiences with others. A predictive text option allows the user to start to type a work which will automatically be completed by the predictive text service, this allows the user to type a text message quicker & using fewer keys when typing. The camera feature is easy to use & the user can use the CSTN screen as a viewfinder. This mobile phone may be practical but the camera feature comes with a good selection of setting which include photo effects, photo quality & a shot mode. The user will not feel alone with the Samsung M110 Solid as a mobile companion as the phone comes with a built in radio feature which provides the user with music entertainment when required. The user can download games to suit their gaming style & taste which provides gaming entertainment for the user. This practical handset comes with a flash light which allows the user to turn their M110 Solid into a touch with a simple switch.

Samsung P960

This sleek looking but fairly unassuming slider phone is the Samsung P960, which in additional to all the usual features you might expect to find also contains a DVB-H digital TV receiver.

The SGH-P960 isn't the only DVB-H device to be launched this week, the Nokia N96 is another one. But most people will never have seen a DVB-H handheld, and with the possible exception of the upcoming N96, it's likely that it will be a while until they actually get their hands on one.

The problem is simple - coverage. Take a look at the DVB Project's service listing and you can see that the only European countries with any significant service are Albania, Finland and Italy. Other countries have ongoing trials, but there is currently very little coverage.

However, by the end of 2008 we should see widespread coverage in Austria, France, Germany, Switzerland plus Moscow in Russia. If you live in the UK, well there's bad news - nationwide DVB-H coverage does not seem to be likely any time soon.

If you ignore the SGH-P960's DVB-H capabilities, then this is a capable but not exceptional 3G device. With a 2.6" 240 x 320 pixel display, FM radio, 3 MP, document viewer, web browser, Bluetooth and support for HSDPA high-speed data, the Samsung P960 is a practical phone for everyday use.

Despite all the features, the Samsung P960 is not the Nokia N96. If you can't receive DVB-H broadcasts in your area then there is very little point in buying it, where the N96 is desirable in its own right.

Samsung say that the SGH-P960 should be available in certain markets from April onwards.

I wrote about the Samsung P960 recently, but it’s always nice to be able to add just a little extra detail - as you might remember, the P960 is a slider, that supports a bunch of DVB-H variants for Europe. There’s also a stackload of memory on-board to allow it to do the “pause live TV” function that we are also familiar with in our PVRs these days….

More on the FC2750 though - this is a complete DVB-H solution, inlcuding a mobile TV tuner IC from Silicon Motion’s FCI product line and a baseband IC from Samsung. This solution offers low-power consumption, a small form factor, and high receive sensitivity that provides the P960 with exceptional mobile TV performance capabilities.

Interestingly, the joint dev with Samsung has also yielded solutions for the T-DMB and S-DMB standards that are popular in the Korean market - so at some point we could potentially see a multi-standard, all-singing and dancing chip, that could be re-pruposed simply by means of low-level software instructions - and suddenly you have economies of scale for embedding… just what Mobile TV needs!

Samsung L760

The Samsung L760 is a slide opening 3G phone which comes with easy to use blogging features. The L760 is the first Samsung handset from the L range. The handset is silver in colour & the slide opening system is smooth & durable as Samsung make them so well after years of practise. This desirable & feature filled 3G phone comes with a 2 Inch colour screen which has a high screen resolution & provides up to two hundred & sixty two colour on the display. The user can take an incoming call & select features when the handset is in the slide closed position. The L760 weighs 93 grams & its dimensions make it easy to carry & use which are 100mm tall by 47mm wide by 15mm deep.

The Samsung L760 is available in a Limited Edition Ted Baker version which is a fashion conscious mobile phone users dream. The Ted Baker version is a highly attractive 3G phone which comes in a brown or pink coloured casing complete with the all important Ted Baker name on the front of the handset above the beautiful high colour screen.

This compact mobile phone comes with a WAP XHTML Web browser complete with RSS feeds. The user can use the RSS feeds to upload their pictures & video recordings directly to blog sites & site such as YouTube which allows the user to share their masterpieces with others. The Samsung L760 is a 3G technology mobile handset which comes with video calling & multitasking capabilities. The user can enjoy fast connectivity & fast data transfers on their new L760. The built in EDGE technology provides high speed data transfers which are up to three times faster than GPRS transfers. Samsung L870

The L870 is a sleek slider 3G Smartphone which has been designed by Samsung with contemporary design & business needs in mind. This desirable handset is gorgeous to look at & comes with a Symbian operating system compete with high speed built in technologies. The Samsung L870 looks similar in design to the Samsung U900 Soul but the L870 comes with a Smartphone Symbian operating system & differing built in features.
